Students’ traffic safety and school bus supervision have become a focus of public concern in recent years. On Oct 22, county representatives of the 14th Changsha Municipal People's Congress visited Changsha Meihua Automobile Manufacturing in Jiangbei town, and later held a meeting on school bus safety management .

As the only school bus manufacturing enterprise in Hunan province approved by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), Meihua Automobile enjoys a great reputation for its high standards and modernized production mode.

In Changsha county, there are 127,000 students in compulsory education at present. Local government has issued licenses for 297 school buses so far, which can hold up to 5,405 students in total.

In recent years, Changsha county’s Party committee and government has attached great importance to the traffic security of students and have formed a school bus management mechanism that requires the government, bus companies, schools and parents to share the management, risks and funds.

Every year, the major functional departments in Changsha county jointly conduct special school bus management activities and improve the construction for road signs and school bus stops to strengthen traffic security. Furthermore, a 3G school buses monitor platform has been established to strengthen the security guarantees through real-time transmission of the school buses’ operation.

Li Jianzhang, director of Changsha county People's Congress, encouraged representatives to concentrate more on the economic and social development of the county and make more significant suggestions through multiple means, including group investigations.
