Metro stations introduce X-ray security scanners

Changsha Metro Line 2 launched the first batch of 13 X-ray scanning devices in five of its stations on Dec 24, Changsha Evening News reported.

The five stations are Changsha Railway Station, Changsha South Railway Station, Wanjili Square Station, Wuyi Square Station, and Wangchengpo Station, and another set of security check equipment, including 31 X-ray scanners, will be successively brought into operation in the remaining 14 stations by the end of January, 2015.

According to Tan Dou, the deputy chief of the public transit branch office of Changsha’s public security bureau, it will take 6 to 8 seconds for the X-ray machine to check a passenger’s luggage and its performance has reached the standard of airport security checking.
