Unlike the existing arrangements in the old center, which required patients to have to run between different departments and services, the new public health center will bring together all the departments in an orderly manner for more convenience, said Chen Wu, the deputy dean of the center.
In addition, the center will have more clinical departments such as the otolaryngology, emergency medicine and traditional Chinese medicine. It also plans to open some medical laboratories, including a medical clinical laboratory, a pharmacy and a radiology department.
Chen said that the new center will spare no efforts to bring in more medical specialists and to enhance its staff members’ training in professional knowledge as well as skills.
Spanning across a total planning area of 8,000 square meters, the new center will offer 120 hospital beds. The main constructions of the outpatient and inpatient buildings have already been completed.
