Kids get painting in Changsha

Creative strokes and colorful palettes splashed the canvas in Changsha county on Nov 12, as talented students sought to envision their own civilized society.
Some 2,400 students of different ages gathered at the Songya Lake Football Ground to paint their impressions of civilized behaviors and beautiful landscapes of their hometown.

Three-year-old Rao Yufei was the youngest participant this year even though it was his second time taking part.

On the same day, Changsha county unveiled a list of 100 books which they recommend all young children and their parents to read together.

Changsha seeks to revive porcelain production
In recent years, the local government has sought to revive the region's long tradition in porcelain making and boost local industry with the cultural influence of ancient Tongguan kilns, which have a history of 1,200 years.
