Changsha county began to construct a Pangeo automotive components manufacturing base in the Xingsha Industrial Base on April 7.

Located at North Changjie Road, the manufacturing base was invested with 400 million yuan ($58 million) by Pangeo Group, a Changsha-based supplier of automotive and industrial precision machined components.

Covering 70,750 square meters, the manufacturing base will be equipped with assembly shops and production lines for automobile gearboxes and plastic injection and molding of automobile components.

It will become Pangeo Group's biggest R&D center in China and have a production capacity of more than 500 million yuan.

The project conforms to Changsha county's plan to build a full automotive sector industrial chain and is expected to help develop the Changsha National Economic and Technical Development Zone into a national center of intelligent manufacturing.

"Xingsha Industrial Base will produce most automotive components needed in the Changsha National Economic and Technical Development Zone," said Huang Shiwei, director of the management committee of Xingsha Industrial Base.
