An exhibition space celebrating the history and culture of Fulin town in Changsha county opened on April 27.

The 55-square-meter space is divided into eight sections and showcases the town's folk lore, historic relics, and valuable cultural items.

"Fulin town has been a home to people for 4,500 years," said Yang Zong, leader of the town's culture bureau. "It served as a transfer site for travellers and business people during the Ming and Qing dynasties (1368-1911)."

The town has stood witness to many great events in history, and so its officials decided to preserve this heritage and set up the exhibition space at the end of last year.

Over a three-month period, cultural relic and documents were collected and sorted to go on display.

The exhibition space supports Yingzhu Mountain as the main tourist destination in the town.
