Yuelu district to focus on raising living standards

Yuelu district in Changsha, Hunan province plans to invest about 437 billion yuan ($65 billion) into 513 projects this year, according to the recent 2019 Yuelu District Industrial Development and Project Construction Mobilization Conference.

A total of 80.26 billion yuan ($12 billion) is planned for investment in 2019, with 20.63 billion yuan being put into 59 major projects throughout Changsha.

This year, Yuelu district's development plan will focus on building its economy, focusing on the development of industrial parks, technological innovation, and the open economy. University and technology towns, industrial parks, and buildings are expected to help drive the growth of the economy.

To improve the area's quality of life, 51 schools and 25 public service institutions and infrastructure projects will be completed. Six bungalows and urban villages will start renovations, 26 fifteen-minute life circles will be built, and 90 public toilets will be renewed.

Changsha seeks to revive porcelain production

In recent years, the local government has sought to revive the region's long tradition in porcelain making and boost local industry with the cultural influence of ancient Tongguan kilns, which have a history of 1,200 years.
