Industrial projects in Inner Mongolia

In 2013, the Inner Mongolia autonomous region started or resumed the construction of 1,241 industrial projects, each with an investment of at least 100 million yuan ($16.54 million). Investment in 33 projects increased compared with last year. The total fixed investment reached 514.39 billion yuan, up 23.9 billion yuan and accounting for 65.69 percent of overall industrial fixed investments. Regarding all the projects, the autonomous region launched 614 new industrial projects, five more year-on-year with a total investment of 221.39 billion yuan. The operating rate was a whopping 109.6 percent.

A total of 627 projects restarted construction in 2013, with investments totaling 293 billion yuan.

In the whole region, Baotou topped other cities in terms of project amount and investment, with 117 projects and 46.3 billion yuan in investment. Chifeng, Ordos and Tongliao also saw good development in new projects.

In terms of restarted projects, Baotou, Ordos and Chifeng were among the top three cities for their continued projects, with 114, 82 and 79 projects, respectively. The three cities also occupied the top three spots regarding the investment for restarted projects.
