A special tour train linking Hohhot, capital of North China’s Inner Mongolia autonomous region, with Mongolia will take its maiden voyage on July 27, according to the Hohhot railway bureau.
2014 welcomes the 65th anniversary of Sino-Mongolia diplomatic relationship and is Sino-Mongolia Friendship Year. Thanks to joint efforts of the Inner Mongolia Tourism Bureau and Hohhot railway bureau, the “Star of Mongolia” Mongolian tour train, which consists of nine carriages and can carry up to 200 tourists, will kick off its six-day journey.
Departing from Hohhot, the train’s first stop is Erenhot, where tourists can experience the unique culture and landscape. It will then head to the city of Ulan Bator, capital of Mongolia.
July is the best time for a Mongolia trip. The beautiful natural scenery, local dishes and mysterious "Tea Road" are open to tourists.
The Inner Mongolia autonomous region is adjacent to Mongolia. The tour train linking each other will help promote Sino-Mongolia’s comprehensive cooperation in economy, education and culture.
