The Xi’an International Trade and Logistics Park in Shaanxi province signed a cooperation agreement with Erenhot Port in Inner Mongolia autonomous region on July 23, during a visit by the park’s manager, Yang Mingrui, and an economic and trade delegation from Shaanxi, July 21-24.
To better implement the opening-up and western development policies, the agreement aims to promote the economy and society in Northwest China, boost the service industry and the open economy in inland regions and enhance cooperation between the park, China’s biggest inland port, and the board port of Erenhot.
To make the best of their advantages in location and transportation, the two sides will cooperate on many fronts, building logistics distribution centers at the park and the port to reduce costs and improve competitiveness. They will also build highly efficient and convenient logistics channels and a comprehensive logistics network, by coordinating railway, customs, and supervision and quarantine.
Erenhot Port will help promote the park, its investment efforts, and its relationship with Mongolia and Russia. They will also improve cooperation in human resources by building a long-term communication system among talented people and organizing visits.
Yang also visited the Haogang Fruit and Vegetable Distribution Zone, wood processing enterprises and Yiwu Mall, to study the port’s management and polices and the market conditions of Mongolia and Russia.
Erenhot, China’s biggest open port to Mongolia, is a frontier and window to the countries north of China.
