The China-Russia-Mongolia International Machinery and Building Materials Expo is scheduled to open in Manzhouli, North China’s Inner Mongolia autonomous region, on August 22.

The expo will map out four pavilions of wooden materials trade, machinery, building materials, and auto and auto parts in the exhibition area of 20,000 square meters. It has nearly 400 exhibition booths. In addition, several forums and exchange activities will be held in tandem with the expo, including the Grasslands Silk Road Economic Belt Development Forum and the 2014 Engineered Wood Industry Development Forum.

About 240 enterprises from China’s 42 cities in 17 provinces will attend the expo as exhibitors. There will also be nearly 300 purchasers. A total of 263 representatives from 14 trade councils for the promotion of international trade at municipal and provincial levels will also be present.

In regards to foreign participants, the expo has attracted over 500 foreign exhibitors; nearly 400 of them are from Russia, while the others from countries like Mongolia, Malaysia and Pakistan. Meanwhile, about 2,500 representatives from the above countries’ chambers of industry and commerce will be on hand at the event.

Manzhouli, the expo’s venue, is the most convenient joint sea-and-rail transportation channel linking Northeast China and the Bohai Rim with Russia and Europe, handling more than 70 percent of China-Russia land transportation. It has substantial advantages in terms of trade, port, policy and industry.

The economic and trade exchanges among China, Russia and Mongolia enjoy exceptional geographical and policy advantages, and create vast business opportunities for the three countries’ machinery, whole vehicle exports and building materials. Thus the expo aims to build a cooperation platform for China, Russia and Mongolia. It seeks to promote deep cooperation and communication.

The expo is held thanks to the joint efforts of the China Chamber of International Commerce, Russian Federation Chamber of Industry and Commerce, Mongolian Chamber of Industry and Commerce, and China Council for the Promotion of International Trade’s Inner Mongolia Committee. The municipal of Manzhouli serves as the organizer.
