A China-Mongolia cross-border e-commerce platform was officially launched on August 20 in Mongolia, in the presence of representatives of the governments, chambers of commerce, and enterprises from China, Mongolia and Russia.

This e-commerce platform, called City Store, is the largest online shopping website in Mongolia. Through cross-border e-commerce, it will enable many Chinese commodities to be sold to Mongolia easily and conveniently, and has already been recognized as a modern “Tea Road”.

The data shows that Mongolia is welcoming the Internet era, with online shopping becoming an indispensible part of Mongolian people’s daily lives. Mongolia’s network retailing market is estimated to be worth around 100 million dollars per year.

China and Mongolia are neighbors that enjoy close cooperation in many fields. Evidently Mongolia is a priority for Inner Mongolia’s going-out strategy. Erenhot is the only rail port between China and Mongolia, which serves as an ideal channel for China-Mongolia cross-border e-commerce development.
