Third China Grassland Agriculture Conference set to open in Hohhot

The third China Grassland Agriculture Conference will open in Hohhot, North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region from July 18 to 20. The preparation for the conference is now in full swing.

A theme "historic opportunity, ecological civilization and food safety" will run throughout the conference, which focuses on how to grasp historic opportunities and by reviewing the Chinese grass industry's development to bring the industry’s role in ecological industries, ecological civilization and food safety into full play.

A total of over 500 attendees, including heads of state departments and commissions, experts, scholars and business representatives, will be on hand at the conference to discuss Chinese grassland agriculture through an agenda which includes special reports, a themed forum, exhibitions and on-site visits.

From May 2010, the grassland agriculture conference has been held every two years in Beijing. Hosted by China's Animal Agriculture Association, this year's event will take place in Inner Mongolia, a region with a relatively developed grassland agriculture.

Mongolia Hotision and Monsod Drought-Resistance Greening Co - one of the event's organizers - is a leader in the grassland ecological remediation in China. When President Xi Jinping visited Monsod at the beginning of 2014, he praised its development strategy and commented that it accorded with the state and local circumstances.

Grassland Tales From Inner Mongolia

This year marks the 70th anniversary of the establishment of the autonomous region, during which various celebrations are planned to showcase its prosperity and ethnic diversity.
