A promising future based on an S&T-driven strategy

"The R&D cycle of a product required 3~5 years previously, but now only requires several months. Thus, the costs are enormously lowered, and we will make more profits," said Gao Shujun, deputy head of IMNHIGC’s New Product Research Institute.

In recent years, IMNHIGC has carried forward the strategy to empower enterprise with science and technology in a comprehensive manner. Meanwhile, support and incentives for scientific progress and technical innovation have been reinforced.

Wang Shuai, deputy director of IMNHIGC’s department of science and technology, pointed out that the group can survive from trials and hardships by virtue of the high importance to science & technology and the special treatment for scientific personnel.

Statistics show that IMNHIGC has applied for 363 patents to date, 102 of them are patents of invention. All the patents have been applied to production.

At present, Baotou’s equipment manufacturing industry, based on the equipment manufacturing industrial park, is striding forward, with IMNHIGC and Inner Mongolia First Machinery Group taking leading roles. In 2013, the Baotou equipment manufacturing industrial park was the second industrial park with volume of a hundred billion yuan within the autonomous region.

In addition, Erdos has preliminarily formed the automobile production industry, new energy industry and electronic products manufacturing with leading enterprises.

The equipment manufacturing industry in Hohhot, Tongliao, Chifeng and Ulanqab is also taking shape.

Transformation and upgrading as well as innovation and quality improvement have great importance. Science and technology give momentum to such breakthroughs in these three aspects.
