An old objects exhibition designed to showcase the history, culture and customs of Inner Mongolia's Hohhot has been planned by the Inner Mongolia Museum with the theme "Yesterday Once More".
From Jan 12, the museum started to collect old objects from the public to prepare for the exhibition. The collection involved old articles dated from the 1940s to the earlier 21st century, covering approximately five types: articles of everyday use like cooking articles and electric appliances; materials like bills, photos and newspapers; things reflecting army life and zhiqing life (zhiqing refers to educated youth sent down to live or work in rural areas during a period from the 1950s to the end of the Cultural Revolution); big articles like eaves tiles; and items for wedding ceremonies or celebrations.
The collection will last until the end of March, while the exhibition is set to open in May. As the exhibition closed, all these exhibits will return to their owners.
