A free non-governmental outdoor rescue hotline, 4008369958, in Inner Mongolia's Hohhot opened on Jan 13. Those who encounter danger outdoors can call this number for help if they are in Hohhot.
The hotline is a charitable measure for public welfare. It works around the clock, and the call fee and rescue service is free of charge, according to the Inner Mongolia Non-Governmental Outdoor Rescue Association. As the first non-governmental outdoor rescue organization, this association was established in Inner Mongolia on Dec 27,2014.
The rescue association is collaborating with the main hospitals in Hohhot and coordinating with 110 and 119, two emergency hotlines in China, for rescue missions.
To date, the association has about 70 members, including doctors, veterans and mountaineers. They are masters at rescue missions in environments like mountains and desserts.
The association is still recruiting. Residents that have outdoor skills and are in good health can apply for membership by calling 4008369958.
