Inner Mongolia autonomous region's Shengle Chinese herbaceous peony base, the largest in North China, will open to the public for free in late May, according to local tourism authorities.
The base is located in Hohhot's Horinger county, one of the origins of the Chinese herbaceous peony. The field spans 350 mu (23.33 hectares), with more than 200,000 flowers in 140 species, including 30 rarely seen species.
The Inner Mongolia Chinese Herbaceous Peony Tourism Festival will coincide with the free ticket period, when a series of activities such as performances and photography exhibits will be organized.
