Based on local wind resources, the Urad Middle Banner in Inner Mongolia’s Bayan Nur has been developing new energy as a leading industry. To date, the seven wind power plants in the banner have generated 13 billion kilowatt-hours since Sept 22, 2007, when the banner’s first wind generator was connected, to grid and has brought both economic and ecological benefits.[Photo by Zhi Maosheng] |
