Inner Mongolia tourism grows 30.04% in Golden Week

Tourism to the Inner Mongolia autonomous region reached a record high, with 7.02 million visitors during the seven-day national holiday, increasing 19.35 percent from the same holiday in 2014.

Tourism income also reached a record of 4.67 billion yuan ($735.79 million), growing 30.04 percent year-on-year.

Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei and Shanxi provinces were the region's top four sources of tourists. Three scenic spots, including the Resonant Sand Bay, Genghis Khan’s Mausoleum and the desert poplar forest, attracted 62.04 percent of the total tourists to the region’s 17 scenic spots, spending 37.38 million yuan.
