North China’s Inner Mongolia autonomous region recently released a document on the conservation of the Great Wall inside the region, which required its 12 leagues and cities to map out Great Wall conservation planning during the 13th Five Plan (2016-2020).

The government asked for salvage projects for sections threatened by natural disasters and those along main transport lines and within the planned area of major projects.

The region also set up a hotline for public reports and supervision of threats to the Great Walls’ conservation for the first time, at the phone number: 96059.

The Great Wall extends over 7,000 kilometers in the region’s 76 banners (counties, county-level cities or districts), spanning 11 historical periods.
