When Inner Mongolia's first green agriculture and livestock products trade fair, in Beijing, came to an end on Jan 18, it had seen a trade volume worth 2.79 million yuan ($423,421), and contracts worth 65 million yuan.

The 4-day fair's green pesticide-free agriculture and livestock products attracted many people, more than 41,000 at one count, who came to purchase a popular brand of beef and mutton. And more than 40 Beijing retailers signed letters of intent with the exhibitors, and the organizers say this is a good start for Inner Mongolia's green livestock products getting established in Beijing, and a major step for Inner Mongolia in building a production and processing base.
