In 2014, the Inner Mongolian government launched their “Ten Coverages” project to enhance the region’s livelihood, focusing on the ten aspects closely related to everyday life: renovating dilapidated houses, providing safe drinking water and electricity, accessing TV and broadcasting in each village, establishing and renovating local schools and standardizing cultural halls, medical rooms, chain stores and social security such as pension funds and medical insurance.

Significant changes have been made in the rural areas across the Inner Mongolia autonomous region.

The project is set for completion by 2017, the 70 anniversary of the establishment of the autonomous region. By then, the ten aspects of everyday life will have been substantially improved in rural and pastoral areas.
