The first Ordos International Creativity and Culture Conference, themed with gathering wisdom of the world and creating the future together, is striving to become a service platform for international creativity and culture, create city brands and new insights, and promote mass entrepreneurship and innovation.
This event is divided into three parts, competitions, forums, and exhibitions. It will progress in three stages -- on-going activities, concentrated activities which will last from August 22 to 27, and achievement promotions which will start in September.
The creative activities, forums, and the closing ceremony are scheduled for the second stage. The activities include a creative week, road shows and exhibitions. Forums will consist of a keynote forum themed on “city, innovation and future" and related sub-forums. The sub-forums will focus on youth initiatives, service-oriented manufacturing, Internet plus big data and services design.
An inauguration ceremony for the permanent site of the international creativity and culture conference will be held during this period.
The international creative design competition, a part of the first Ordos International Creativity and Culture Conference, welcomes participants throughout the country and from overseas, and encourages well-known enterprises to participate. The works are categorized into three types: visual transmission, industrial design and arts and crafts. A special competition committee prize, 15 first prizes, 30 second prizes, and 45 third prizes will be given; in addition, there will be awards for the 50 most popular performances, and 10 outstanding organizations. Five hundred prizes will be given to voters on the internet for taking part in the competition.
The closing and awards ceremonies will be held together with the third Ordos international Nadam fair.
The third Ordos international Nadam Fair emphasizes sustainability, participation, networking and publicity. It encourages an operation mode combining corporate institutionalism and market-based styling to create a cultural tourism and sports brand based on ethnic customs and modern fashion. It aims to improve the image and popularity of Ordos.
Compared with the first two sessions of the Ordos International Nadam Fair held in 2010 and 2012, the third session will perhaps be more innovative in form and content. The third Nadam fair will last from March to the end of this year. A total of 53 events will be organized by the municipal departments of culture, tourism and sports, in addition to 200 more to be held by different banners, districts, enterprises, scenic spots, clubs and associations.
The fair’s concentrated active phase will run from August 22 to 27. The prairie carnival, a highlight, will be held throughout that period. Traditional Nadam sports events will also be held in this phase.
There are various other Ordos cultural and tourism activities to look forward to, such as the China-Thailand trip in 2016, and the Ordos international urban music festival in 2016.
