On Aug 13, a volunteer campaign on responsible and eco-friendly tourism called “blue ribbon” was launched in the wildlife park at Ordos, Inner Mongolia autonomous region.
Initiated by the National Tourism Bureau and China’s Children Arts Foundation on July 12, this event is aimed at attracting the public’s attention to responsible and eco-friendly traveling in China, along with publicizing tourist sites and historical ethnic culture in Ordos.

At the opening ceremony, celebrities including artists, hosts, singers and dancers, were appointed as ambassadors to advocate civilized and ecofriendly travelling. Local volunteers along with children also participated in the event.
One celebrity present thought it was important that children were at the event as it would educate them on environmental issues.
The campaign contains four different aspects; the photography contest featuring wild animals, the recruitment of volunteers to promote responsible tourism, picking up litter in a zoo, and the communal evening gala in Ordos.
