Inner Mongolia has set goals for developing both its big data and cloud computing industries, with the ambition of building up a cross-sector governmental platform over the next three to five years.

Based upon cloud computing technology, the regional government intends to integrate information and resources from regional, municipal, and rural departments to build a single, cross-sector e-platform for government services. Thus, civil servants from all levels can communicate and share information via the e-platform, and they can also be connected to the regional leading departments.

Inner Mongolia has also set five further development goals including the construction of a large data center in North China, a data port along the Silk Road, an Internet Plus system for public services, a data base for converging industrial advantages, and a multi-ethnic shared e-platform.
