Updated: 2016-12-08

Baotou Metro agreed a strategic cooperation framework with Shenzhen Metro on Dec 5, marking the first-time the two companies have cooperated.

Zhang Jianzhong, vice mayor of Baotou, extended his welcome to the delegation led by Lin Maode, president of Shenzhen Metro, at the signing ceremony and urged further cooperation between the two companies on the Baotou metro project.

Work on metro construction is ready to begin in Baotou, the largest city of North China’s Inner Mongolia autonomous region. Earlier in August, the city saw a breakthrough in metro construction with construction work starting on the metro control center, marking the project’s move to the implementation stage.

Founded in 1998, Shenzhen Metro is a State-owned company based in Shenzhen, Guangdong province. The company boasts expertise in metro construction and operations, and has completed work on five lines of the Shenzhen metro, covering a distance of 210 kilometers.

With the establishment of the alliance, Shenzhen Metro will provide advice and suggestions on the Baotou metro project in terms of design, construction and operations.
