Tourist train links N China with S China

A tourist train carrying 420 tourists from Baotou, Inner Mongolia autonomous region, arrived in Haikou, capital city of Hainan province, on Dec 6.

The 420 tourists are the first group of passengers to use the service, and they are all from the autonomous region. They start their six-day trip in the southernmost province of China, thanks to the tourism cooperation between North China and South China.

The tourist train was launched by the Tourism Bureau of Inner Mongolia autonomous region and the railway bureau of Hohhot. The train departs from Inner Mongolia and passes through Beijing and Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region before reaching Hainan province.

Baotou, the largest city of Inner Mongolia, has been launching new flights and tourist train services to enhance cooperation with other regions in China and boost tourism. The launching of the tourist train to Hainan province opens more opportunities for tourism between North China and South China and will boost the economy of the two regions.
