Baotou's GDP ranks 5th in West China

The GDP of Baotou, Inner Mongolia autonomous region, hit 386.76 billion yuan ($55.98 billion) in 2016, ranking fifth among 57 member cities in West China, according to Baotou Daily.

The figure represented year-on-year growth of 7.6 percent.

Chengdu, capital city of Sichuan province, topped the list, with GDP reaching 1217.02 billion yuan, followed by Xi'an, Shaanxi province with 625.72 billion yuan and Ordos, Inner Mongolia autonomous region, with 441.79 billion yuan.
