The city of Baotou, Inner Mongolia autonomous region sold 227,000 tons of rare earth, in 2015, or more than 5-times the amount for 2014, according to its rare earth exchange, on Jan 20, noting that since the exchange opened in March 2014, it has seen continued growth in rare-earth metal oxide and some alloy sales which contribute a lot to the city's economy.
