The Customs office in the city of Hohhot, Inner Mongolia reports that the city of Baotou exported 424.7 tons of rare earth in the past January, for a year-on-year growth of 227 percent, and profits of about 15 million yuan ($2.3 million), up 138-percent from the same period in 2015.
