The city of Baotou, Inner Mongolia rolled out an immense hot pot, which resembles a space rocket as much as it does a restaurant item, on July 5 for its first ignition to get it ready for the upcoming China-Baotou International Beef and Mutton Industry Convention.
The novel cooker is 9 meters tall, with a diameter of 9 meters, and can feed 100 people at the same time, giving Baotou (the "hot pot city") a new Guinness world hotpot record, as well as a new landmark.
The China-Baotou International Beef and Mutton Industry Convention, the third so far, will be held July 8-12 to exhibit all manner of international beef and mutton products, including processing technology and new slaughtering equipment, and is expected to attract thousands of participants with an interest in the beef and mutton industries and related fields.
