A robot guide greeted readers at Xinhua Bookstore in Baotou, Inner Mongolia autonomous region, according to a report by baotounews.com.cn on Jan 22.

The robot, named Xiao Pang, or “little fatty”, is a walking encyclopedia, capable of introducing every book in the store, as well as all the latest news on books and movies.

Also, the versatile robot can sing and dance, as well as playing videos on its interface screen.

Xiao Pang is the first robot guide to be introduced at Xinhua Bookstore. And it will be equipped with more functions in the near future, to encourage more people to read books.
