An investment promotion fair held in Baotou, Inner Mongolia autonomous region, witnessed the signing of agreements for a total of 105 projects worth some 280.5 billion yuan ($41.5 billion), according to a July 16 Baotou Daily report.

The projects cover a wide range of areas including rare earths and new materials, new energy, high-end equipment manufacturing, and modern logistics.

The fair, as part of efforts to recruit talented workers, was held on July 13.

Over the past few years, Baotou has devoted itself to the recruitment of skilled workers, and has enacted policies and initiatives to assist with employment. In August 2016, the people’s government of Baotou issued an initiative on college graduate recruitment, with the aim of finding employment for 200,000 college graduates by 2020.
