Jiangnan University launched its "Entrepreneurship on Campus" competition on June 14, in a bid to create an innovative atmosphere for business-minded students at the university and support undergraduates' newly-established firms, Wuxi Daily reported.

The university has joined hands with the national university science park to launch the contest which focuses on Internet Plus and big data technology. So far, 47 groups have signed up.

The university also launched the "Startups Project" to provide financial support for startups and cultivate more entrepreneurial talents. Some 28 groups and enterprises have applied for the project, with four of them gaining support funds after several rounds of assessments and roadshows.

A spokesperson from Jiangnan University said that it had long been dedicated to educational resource integration and the construction of entrepreneurship education. The university has established a tri-level entrepreneurship curriculum system and assembled a mentor team to better serve and guide undergraduates' entrepreneurship activities.
