Wuxi Studios to be film and TV industry icon in China

Wuxi Studios, a film making base also known as "Huallywood" in Jiangsu province, is to host an investment summit for cultural industries, including film, TV and animation, on Dec 15 and 16, according to a summit press meeting on Dec 9.

The investment summit will be a large-scale event for guests from the film and TV industry and the financial investment community. Two-hundred and eighty distinguished guests have been invited to the summit, including film directors, producers, actors, actresses and investors.
At the opening ceremony on Dec 15, Wuxi Studios is to release three service platforms to provide professional services for crews that film in Wuxi, technological support for video editing and an investment platform. Signing ceremonies for 35 film and TV funds and companies will also be held.
During the two-day summit, industry professionals will give lectures and hold talks on various topics related to the film and TV industry, including analysis of current film technologies, trend of the Chinese film market and investment opportunities. Speakers will include Zhang Hongsen, head of the film bureau at the State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television of China, Jiang Ping, general manager of the Taiwan-based Central Motion Pictures, Yu Dong, CEO of Bona Film Group, and Chinese director, Lu Chuan.
Several new films and TV series will also be released during the summit, including The Monkey King 3 and Nothing Gold Can Stay.
Wuxi has designated the film and TV industry as a focus for development in recent years. Wuxi's "Huallywood", a state-of-the-art film studio, has embraced the development of the modern film industry. In 2015, the film industry park reached an output of 2.3 billion yuan ($333 million), and is making efforts to establish a high-end, professional and international film production base.
