The commuters of Jiangsu Province have got great news before the end of the year as the province is going to introduce a new public transport card on December 20. The card will allow its holders to take bus, subway, taxi and train anywhere in the province, informed an official.

And more, from next year, it will also be accepted in Shanghai.

Configuration of card-reading machines at metro stations in the province's Nanjing, Suzhou and Wuxi cities will be completed soon, said the officer.

The provincial government is considering upgrading the transport card into a payment card for small purchases. Card holders can enjoy more convenience and benefits. Students and senior citizen cards can't get access outside of their cities.
