Datang Ecological Park in Qiandeng town will be taking to the skies in early April as it hosts a kite festival.
The festival will run from April 2 to 10, during which time visitors can make their own kites and have a go at flying them under the guidance of experts. The park offers plenty of space – 840 hectares to be precise – so you won't have to worry about getting your kite tangled up.

A craft kite exhibition will also be held during the festival.
Times:
Show time for flying kites: 9:00 am – 4:00 pm, April 2, 3, 9 and 10.

While in the park, visitors might as well check out the blooming peach flowers, pear flowers and rape flowers displayed beautifully throughout. A new variety of rape flower developed in the last decade with unique white petals can be found there.
Before hitting the road back home, Qiandeng's characteristic green glutinous rice balls are worth picking up to sample. The seasonal snack has a light taste and refreshing scent from its wrapper.
This year will be the eighth kite festival to be held at the park, in celebration of its beautiful spring days.
