A five-kilometer color run attracted a host of runners from all ages in Nanjing, Jiangsu province on May 31.
With the theme of "Let's go to Milan," the rainbow-run was held as a promotional event for the upcoming Expo Milano 2015, where a special 'Nanjing Week' will be held in Milan, Italy from July 7 to 13. The color run coincided with the theme of Nanjing Week to highlight a city image of a love for colors, creation and life.
The run was non-competitive and participants could set their own pace to enjoy the 5-km journey, which featured five powder sprinkle stations along the route.
Staff, security guards and volunteers of the event arrived at the venue at 7:00am to prepare for the officially opening time of 9:00am. Before the running commenced, participants posed for photos in front of the Nanjing Week logo, followed the official WeChat account of Nanjing week and read brochures related to the event.
"I've heard our city will host the Nanjing Week during Expo Milano 2015. Although I can't attend the event in Milan, I am still very happy to participate in the color run as part of it," said a college student, who ran with dozens of other design students.
