The activity of 2013 China (Nantong) Jianghai Talent and Entrepreneurship Week, in the Nantong Economic and Technological Development Area of Nantong, Jiangsu province, opened on July 5, has seen 2.4 billion yuan ($391.68 million) worth of contracts signed, area officials have reported.
The activity had 35 projects and attracted dozens of people from China and abroad, including academics and personnel from China's global expert hiring program. It had 152 entrepreneurial projects on display in the electronic information, biomedicines, new materials, precision machinery, and equipment manufacturing fields.
At the activity, Qu Baoxian, the area's Party secretary, thanked the organizers of the activity and briefly described Nantong's development plan, which focuses on talented people, emerging industries, and support for leading industries. Qu also described the city's attempt to become innovation-oriented and how the city government will provide more support policies and services.
The activity has brought in 161 entrepreneurship projects and introduced 1,000 talented personnel, 500 of them from overseas.
