A delegation from Taiwan, comprised of Lee Chin-Tarn, dean of the College of Management at National Sun Yat-sen University (NSYSU) and members of Council for Industrial and Commercial Development (CICD), visited Nantong city in Jiangsu province from August 9 to 11.
Ding Dawei, Party secretary of Nantong municipal government welcomed the delegation and voiced his wish that the visit can bring new opportunities for cooperation between Nantong and Taiwan in economy, culture and education. Nantong will continue to offer Taiwan investors a sound investment environment and favorable policies, according to Ding.
Lee Chin-Tarn said the visit allowed him to experience Nantong's development. Located close to the Yangtze River and Shanghai, Nantong boasts unique geographic advantages that have attracted 62 Global Fortune 500 companies. Lee also said he will bring more Taiwan people to visit Nantong.
The NSYSU was established in 1980 in the city of Kaohsiung, Taiwan, and has since been a thriving institution of higher learning.
Founded in 1980, the CICD is an important industrial group in Taiwan. It has over 2,000 member enterprises and great influence on Taiwan's political and economic development. The group has maintained close ties with Nantong.
