The foundation for a new materials, energy-saving, and environmental protection equipment industrialization base costing a total of 240 million yuan ($36.6 million) was laid in the Nantong Economic and Technological Development Area on Nov 17.

The base, funded by SANZER (Shanghai) New Materials Co Ltd, is expected to produce 400 tons of high-performance carbide ceramic materials and 6,000 pieces of heating, heat energy conservation, and environmental protection equipment per year, including high temperature-resistant silicon carbide ceramic heating plates.

The person in charge of the project said that the enterprises have more than 20 pieces of intellectual property related to core materials and processes, which can promote the application of industrial ceramics in the fields of new energy, energy conservation, and environmental protection. The first phase of the project is expected to begin operating in June of next year. Annual sales revenue is expected to be about 120 million yuan, while annual tax revenue is expected to reach roughly 11 million yuan.

SANZER (Shanghai) New Materials Co Ltd was founded in 2014, and the company's R&D and management center is located in Shanghai. The wholly-owned company Nantong Precision Ceramics Co Ltd serves as the manufacturing base for the company.
