The percentage of workers in the Nantong Economic & Technological Development Area (NETDA) which are highly skilled has reached 16.09 percent, the highest rate in Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province, according to statistics released on Dec 17 at a promotional conference in NETDA.
NETDA is home to a robust State-owned economy, private economy and foreign capital economy, as well as a relatively complete industrial system. At present, more than 120,000 industrial workers are employed in the the area. Therefore, it is urgent to strengthen their skills, so as to provide a strong guarantee for the high-quality development.
The development zone has been focusing on cooperating with Shanghai and promoting high-quality development in all respects, and also provides preferential policies for characteristic industries such as new-generation information technology, intelligent manufacturing and big data, and mechanism of industrial worker team building.
The NETDA Free Trade Zone got the original go-ahead, on Jan 3, 2013, from the State Council, for a 5.29-sq-km area, in two parts.
