The future of the Nantong Economic & Technological Development Area – in the prefecture-level city of Nantong, in East China's Jiangsu province – was on the agenda, when a leading official of the NETDA gave an interview recently.
Zhang Jianhua, secretary of the Party working committee of the NETDA was invited on Jan 18 to a TV and multi-media studio to talk about the zone entering and exciting new phase of development and becoming the vanguard of reform and the further opening up of the city.
Zhang said that entering the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-25), the NETDA will strive to start a new journey of high-quality development by focusing on the goal of "starting again with reform and opening up and ranking among the top five zones in Jiangsu province.
The NETDA is determined to make more contributions, to become a "pacesetter in the vanguard", he said.
Facing the new requirements and expectations of the Nantong municipal government for the development zone in the next five-year period, the NETDA has mapped out a course of action.
It first made clear its goal of further focusing on its main responsibilities and business. It will aim to establish and develop an industry benchmark, innovation highland and an open demonstration and efficiency window.
The goal is to set off a new development boom in an all-round way.
The NETDA Free Trade Zone got the original go-ahead, on Jan 3, 2013, from the State Council, for a 5.29-sq-km area, in two parts.
