As the Spring Festival rapidly approaches, in a bid to secure the best possible outcome for novel coronavirus epidemic prevention and control during the holidays, the authorities in the Nantong Economic & Technological Development Area -- in Nantong city in East China's Jiangsu province -- have closely coordinated and actively mobilized measures and guidance that includes advocating off-peak travel in the NETDA and encouraging people to stay put during the break.
A charity association in the NETDA sent out holiday gifts to local migrant construction workers on Feb 4, which received a warm response.
"I have been working in Nantong for many years and everyone has been very kind to us. Nantong has become my second hometown," said Chen Xian, who could not go back to his hometown of Ningbo, in East China's Zhejiang province.
Dong Kexin, president of the charity, said that migrant workers who stuck to their post for the upcoming Spring Festival would contribute to the epidemic prevention and economic development of the NETDA.
Representatives of the charity conducted a visit to some of the workers in the area, handing out the holiday offerings to express their gratitude and to wish that would experience the warmth of their hometown in the NETDA during the break.
The NETDA Free Trade Zone got the original go-ahead, on Jan 3, 2013, from the State Council, for a 5.29-sq-km area, in two parts.
