The Nantong Economic & Technological Development Area or NETDA - based in the prefecture-level city of Nantong in East China's Jiangsu province - is reportedly making moves to improve the efficiency of some of its key administrative procedures, in order to boost its attractiveness and competitiveness.
The NETDA Administrative Examination and Approval Bureau on March 15 held a meeting on joint pre-examinations and approvals for companies wanting to locate operations in the Nantong International Smart Port in the area's Liando U Valley, according to local media.
The media reports said the aim was to better serve manufacturers and streamline project examinations and approval procedures, as well as strictly control the quality of investment.
NETDA department officials at the meeting reportedly had full discussions with the enterprises looking at Liando U Valley in the areas of safety, environmental protection, attracting investment and output.
Liando U Valley is located in the core area of development zone, covering 8.7 hectares, with total construction area of 100,000 square meters and is focusing on the integration of the Yangtze River Delta region.
The facility aims to create new opportunities and a new generation of information technology, equipment industries and other leading sectors through core research, development and production in a high-end and smart industrial park.
The NETDA Free Trade Zone got the original go-ahead, on Jan 3, 2013, from the State Council, for a 5.29-sq-km area, in two parts.
