A total of 35 projects worth 57.8 billion yuan ($8.8 million) that are due to break ground in the current year in the Nantong Economic & Technological Development Area or NETDA – located in Nantong city in East China's Jiangsu province – recently had their launch ceremony, according to March 31 reports in the local media.
Of these, 12 projects have been listed as major provincial and municipal projects, which will start construction in the first half of this year. Meanwhile, some 17 projects involve the high-end equipment industry, four are in the new generation information technology sector, while five are in the medical and health industry.
The projects reportedly aim to inject new momentum into the zone's development, improve its services, help with the construction of new facilities and better the lives of locals.
