The 4th Nantong Economic & Technological Development Area's NETDA Nengda Cup Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition and Shanghai Branch Competition was held in the city of Shanghai in East China on April 28 – with 30 innovation and entrepreneurship projects competing.
The contest had as its theme "technology can reach and create a brighter future".
The event focused on the new generation of electronic information, high-end equipment, medicine and health and other industries – as well as attracting top innovation and entrepreneurship resources and recruits with outstanding innovative and entrepreneurial capabilities.
The competition now moves on to be held in Shanghai, Beijing, Shenzhen and other first-tier innovation and entrepreneurship strongholds. The winning projects of each heat will gather in Nantong city, in East China's Jiangsu province, to compete in the finals of the innovation and entrepreneurship contest.
Zhang Jianhua, secretary of the Party working committee of the NETDA, said that the development zone would tap the potential of the event. As a result, more gifted individuals from home and abroad would innovate and start up businesses and make outstanding achievements in the NETDA, he added.
The NETDA Free Trade Zone got the original go-ahead, on Jan 3, 2013, from the State Council, for a 5.29-sq-km area, in two parts.
