A signing ceremony was held in Yin Yuan Park on Nov 16, 2014, to mark the opening of Wuxi Ukraine Oil Painting Art Gallery and to establish its cooperation with the Ukraine National Academy of Fine Arts.
Nataliia Mudrenko, acting consul general of Ukraine in Shanghai; Andriy Chebykin, president of the Ukraine National Academy of Fine Arts; Ostap Kvalichuk, vice-president of the academy; and Pan Junqing, deputy mayor of Wuxi, attended the ceremony.
Invited by Wuxi Ukraine Oil Painting Art Gallery, President Andriy Chebykin and Vice-President Ostap Kvalichuk made the special trip to Wuxi and signed a strategic cooperation agreement to deepen artistic cooperation and further consolidate and develop the function of Wuxi Ukraine Oil Painting Art Gallery. It will lay a solid foundation for cultural and art communication between China and Ukraine.
As the best fine art academy in Ukraine, Ukraine National Academy of Fine Arts was one of the three largest fine art academies in the former Soviet Union and now is among the top 40 fine art academies in the world.
Wuxi Ukraine Oil Painting Art Gallery is a non-profit art organization officially authorized by Ukraine and supported by the Wuxi government. It provides a good place for Ukraine's outstanding artists and displays their paintings in the Yangtze River Delta region.
Since 2013, Wuxi Ukraine Oil Painting Art Gallery has exhibited in Sujia Gallery for two times, about "invitational exhibition of Ukraine contemporary masters' fine arts" and "Master and Inheritance - exhibition of 10 masters from Ukraine National Academy of Fine Arts".
Ukrainian painting has attracted large audiences and gained great popularity from local citizens with its broad subjects, rich diversity in styles and artistic techniques thanks to the exhibitions.
