The 6th China Student Service Outsourcing Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition concluded in Wuxi, Jiangsu, on August 29. Teams from Northwestern Polytechnical University, National Sun Yat-sen University in Taiwan and Jiangnan University won the first prize.
Some 890 teams from 309 universities, including Tsinghua University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University and India's NIIT University, took part in the final round. The number of teams increased 98 percent from last year.
The competition, with the theme "innovation, entrepreneurship and wealth creation", aimed to build a platform for university students and innovators.
The sponsor also invited entrepreneurs to share their experience and the local job-seeking website cithr.com introduced 1,000 related positions during the event.
"Wuxi, with strong commercial culture, can provide a favorable business and innovation platform," Wuxi mayor Wang Quan said in his speech, adding that Wuxi welcomes graduates to work and start a business.
Wuxi has seen rapid growth in the service outsourcing industry during recent years. There are now 1,400 related companies with more than 160,000 employees. The market covers over 90 countries and regions.
