Wuxi has focused on optimizing the structure of introduced foreign capital from January to August this year.
During the period, the city attached importance to high-end manufacturing industry. A large number of manufacturing projects were introduced from Asian countries such as South Korea and Singapore.
According to the local Bureau of Commerce, the city, also known as one of the birthplaces of China's modern industry and commerce, has attracted foreign capital worth $1.88 billion from January to August this year, ranking the third in Jiangsu province with a 3.79 percent annual increase.
With a solid industrial foundation, Wuxi has also been accelerating its development in logistics, industrial design, service outsourcing and finance lease. The city has a total of 12 foreign financial leasing enterprises, totaling foreign capital worth $119.49 million in the first eight months, up 13.5 percent compared with same period last year.
To introduce more leading enterprises, the local government has simplified the procedure of investing in Wuxi for foreign investors and created a favorable living environment for foreigners in the city.
